[EN] My new favorite Assam! Full, rich and smooth. This is the perfect tea to wake up to!

[EN] Very smooth, mild tea!
[EN] The deeply characteristic flavors and fragrance of Assam tea (is that what others call "malty"?) are present and persistent here, but somewhat tamed. The tea brews up very quickly--this works well in fabric/paper tea bags, and might do well in a paper-filter coffee-drip system. But this IS tea--every bit--down to the last drop--and it's quite good. Strong and dark and, even though I over-brewed it a little, it didn't become astringent. Great value for an Assam tea. The granular texture of the leaves made it easy to measure and handle as well.

[EN] I have tried many of the premium assams and this tea tasted quite different from them. My first impulse was to bury it in my orange pekoe:-P which I didn't do because I didn't want to change the taste of that tea. I found after a week or so that it did grow on me. I probably won't order it again as I prefer the Ceylon Orange Pekoe. That said, I should try making it with some bottled water rather than the well water. Might make a difference.
