Description
Fukamushi Sencha Kakegawa – Smooth Deep-Steamed Japanese SenchaFukamushi Sencha Kakegawa is crafted in the celebrated style of Kakegawa, a region renowned throughout Japan for its high-quality deep-steamed (fukamushi) sencha. It's made solely from the prized Asatsuyu tea cultivar, often called "natural gyokuro" for its naturally sweet, mellow character, harvested during the second flush. Deep steaming breaks down the leaves more than regular sencha processing, creating a richer, smoother and less astringent cup with a gorgeous, cloudy green color. Our Fukamushi Sencha Kakegawa is a classic deep-steamed sencha, full of shimmering, iridescent jade color and wonderful aromas. Tasting Notes
Why You'll Love ItThis is a perfect sencha to drink every day. It's smooth, sweet and satisfying, with none of the bitterness that can make some green teas challenging. Its clean, vegetal sweetness makes it easy to enjoy cup after cup.
How to EnjoyBrew it in a kyusu or teapot with a fine filter to catch the small deep-steamed leaf particles, and enjoy several infusions. It pairs beautifully with sushi, rice dishes, grilled fish and Japanese sweets, and makes a refreshing iced green tea. Smooth, sweet and beautifully vibrant, Fukamushi Sencha Kakegawa is Japanese green tea at its most comforting. |
