Description

Chinese Gunpowder Temple of Heaven, or 平水珠茶 (Ping Shui Zhu Cha) is green tea that is traditionally grown and produced in Zhejiang province. It is unique in flavor and appearance, and instantly recognizable by its shiny, glossy, tightly rolled pellet shape. This is achieved by drying the tea leaves in rolling drums, causing the constantly rotated leaves to take on their signature spherical shape. Our Gunpowder Temple of Heaven tea is premium quality - its tightly rolled and shiny appearance are a clear indication of its superior quality! Producing a softer aroma than standard gunpowder offerings, our Gunpowder Temple of Heaven is less bitter than other gunpowder teas. Our Gunpowder Temple of Heaven has a gentle green aroma that is slightly smoky, once steeped its infusion has a bold, thick and strong flavor, with a smoky flavor note and an aftertaste that is slightly coppery. This is a green tea classic that is perfect to enjoy at any time of the day!

I was shocked at the excellent quality of this tea, especially considering the low price. I'm no tea connoisseur, but this is some of the finest tea I have tried. There is no bitterness at all. This will probably be my main go-to green tea. Awesome!

Tealyra is my favorite source of tea, no question. Must stipulate that, as I get this tea at a local Chinese market, which sells this in a range of units, up to 1-kilo boxes. And they display a mountain of it, so that says something about its popularity with veteran tea drinkers. Temple of Heaven is my go-to green tea. I recommend it.

Everything a gunpowder should be and organic to top it all. Assertive and elegant. The tea that my non-green-tea-drinking friends prefer.

This tea is quite good. Really rich color once brewed and a strong, good taste.
