Description

Kabusecha (冠茶 translates as “covered tea”) is a type of Japanese sencha, yet is somewhat of a mid-point between sencha and gyokuro. As it is grown in the similar method to sencha tea leaves, yet is shaded like gyokuro; though for significantly less time - only about a week at 50% shade. The general rule is that any tea that is not shaded for the correct amount of time (about 3 weeks) isn’t true gyokuro. This is what sets Kabusecha apart!

Our Homare Diadem Kabusecha is known for having the refreshing flavor of sencha with some of the “soul” of the sweet, umami flavor of gyokuro tea.

The dry leaf is glossy and deep green in color with a highly fragrant and sweet aroma. Once infused, our Homare Diadem Kabusecha tea has a less grassy, more vegetal and less astringent green tea taste with a sweet and smooth finish and full mouth feel.

Try Homare Diadem Kabusecha to further explore the vast world of Japanese tea! You may enjoy it hot, or iced for a refreshing treat.

I have always loved green tea but I am only now starting to search for finer and more authentic types. This one is really fantastic and I'm going to be ordering it again because I drank it so quickly. It has a really nice flavour that is almost buttery - so smooth and so delicious, I highly recommend it!

I have tried many different Japanese green teas, both here and in Japan. This one surprised me as it's appearance looked deceiving. Has an almost "buttery" character, calming demeanor, and is now one of my favorites. I hope it with available for a long time!

Clear green color. Light taste without theine aftertaste. Different from Sencha or Gyokuro but interesting to drink. Good quality.
